Marshfield Emergency Management Agency

Marshfield Emergency Management Agency

MEMA UPDATES TECHNOLOGY

The Marshfield Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) has introduced a new home page on the Marshfield-Ma.Gov website. This new website will contain information regarding local emergencies, anticipated events and the relevant actions town residents need to be prepared for. This site offers practical information and direction in the event of sever storms and other emergencies. The link to this site is located on the Home Page of the marshfield-ma.gov website and also supplies useful links to other sites offering guidance and information for any number of events. Though the site has just gone live and new content is being added weekly, additional content will be updated expeditiously when certain events transpire. The site will play a major role in Marshfield's ability to keep its residents up to date in real time. Anyone possessing an internet connection who subscribes to the Marshfield site will automatically be updated through email when new information is posted via the website.

MEMA Goes Mobile

With the addition of a new website and other proposed technologies, MEMA will be setting its goals to extending its reach to mobile and remote units via new technology enhancements. The ability to share real-time information is paramount when dealing with natural disasters, critical events and Marshfield’s inclement weather patterns. MEMA is on the door step of installing new technologies for Local and Remote users which allows Marshfield field personnel to possess or access critical data that was once only available to emergency management personnel located at the Emergency Management Center.

The new Technologies will offer remote users the ability to interact with current Management events from remote locations that have internet access or can gain access to the Marshfield Fiber Backbone. Authorized access for remote users will allow the user to view live streaming video obtained from within MEMA. The sharing of Audio and Video data will allow other agencies the ability to interact in Training Seminars, view live Emergency Management Sessions and provide online collaboration. Wireless implementations will aid in the ability for all interior personnel to share data and files while editing and building scenarios through the new Smart Sympodium. GIS data, data feeds from Weather Sentry, Entergy Nuclear Plant and Broadband TV will all be available electronically for faster processing and evaluation.

These new technologies have been designed to leverage other technology advancements Marshfield is currently building.
