Marshfield Video Streaming Technology
Marshfield has expanded on its goal to increase access to Town Meeting through the use of Video Streaming over the Internet. October 3rd 2006 will be the first meeting Marshfield has held were anyone around the globe can take part in Town Meeting. With a computer, internet connection and Windows Media Player you can now listen and see the Articles on screen, hear discussion and see the final article votes as they happen. Simply go to Marshfield-ma.gov and select the "Channel 15" link on the home page.
With this new technology is the ability for Selectmen and Town officials to address the town residents and businesses live from the many locations including the Selectmen's office. Additionally, Marshfield can expand it's communication and training practices throughout the town for all town personnel.
Marshfield Emergency Management Agency as well as Law Enforcement and other Safety Organizations are evaluating this medium for communication options when updating Town Residents of specific events and weather.
