News Release: Marshfield Selectmen – Website Accolades
The Marshfield Municipal Government website has received an award from the Common Cause non partisan organization which promotes transparency for all government agencies. This award is bestowed upon communities that meet specific criteria which are posted to their websites. These requirements include, agendas, meeting minutes, warrants and Town Meeting results to name a few.
Marshfield departments, boards, committees and commissions have been working diligently over the last year to establish a simpler access method for obtaining this type of information on our website. Through a great team effort on everyone’s part we have been awarded this distinguished certificate which speaks highly to the goals of providing transparency in one of the many forms of our government access.
There were approximately 117 communities out of 361 Massachusetts communities which were honored recently at the state house for this accomplishment. We hope to continue in our efforts to provide an open access methodology to town government while possibly expanding on the available content for Marshfield Residents and Businesses. Next year Marshfield will be seeking the most distinguished level of recognition or the Super Star status which requires additional content and longevity in the amount of years the content is posted.
