We are pleased that you made the decision to reside in Marshfield and hope that you have many years of success and happiness in your new home.
This letter is written as a courtesy to make you aware of the Town’s taxation process as it may not have been discussed with you at your closing. It will also inform of you of how to access key services that you are entitled to as a new resident.
The Town real estate tax bills are issued quarterly and are due on August 1st, November 1st, February 1st and May 1st. Personal Property tax bills are issued in the same manner as the real estate tax bills and apply to businesses and second residences. Motor vehicle excise is issued annually to each registration with the bulk of the bills being due in March. Boat excise is also issued annually. Utility bills (water, sewer & trash) are issued semi-annually by voter precinct. You may access more detailed information about collection procedures at the Treasurer Collector’s site.
It is possible that you have a tax or user fee liability, and not have received a bill. Please call (781) 834-5548 to determine what, if any, liability exists prior to the above due dates to prevent any interest and charges. Change of address forms are available at the Treasurer Collector’s site.

To register to vote, obtain birth, death and marriage certificates and dog licenses, please see the Town Clerk’s area on this website.
Beach stickers are available at the Treasurer’s Office for a cost of $30 per registration. The stickers are not valid for Humarock, but you may obtain a sticker from the Town of Scituate for that beach.
The Town Hall hours are Monday from 8:30 AM to 7:30 PM and Tuesday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. During the summer months, the Town Hall often closes every other Monday evening at 4:30 PM.
