POSSIBLE MASSACHUSETTS PERSONAL INCOME TAX CREDIT
FOR PROPERTY OWNERS WITHIN MARSHFIELD'S SEWER 2000 PROJECT
The Town of Marshfield/ DPW reminds those Marshfield property owners within the Sewer 2000 project who have or will be connecting to the public sewer that they may be eligible to obtain the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Revenue personal income tax credit equal to forty percent (40%) of the actual costs of mandated connections to the public sewer. The amount of the credit cannot exceed $6,000.
Please ask your tax preparer if you are eligible for this credit. The owner must complete Massachusetts Schedule SC along with a certificate of compliance that he/she can obtain from the Marshfield WWTP that certifies that the property has been connected to the public sewer; and that it was mandated to do so.
Once you have connected to the public sewer and the WWTP has made and approved their final inspection, you may contact the WWTP at 781-834-5521 to obtain certification that you have connected to the public sewer.
