The Marshfield Police Department periodically offers TIPS (Training for Intervention Procedures) training. TIPS is a nationally recognized training program whose mission is to educate and train all facets of society in the responsible sale and consumption of alcohol. These classes are taught by Sergeant Paul Taber of the Marshfield Police Department.
Social awareness and concerns about the consequences of alcohol misuse have grown in recent years. With this social awareness have come greater demands for responsibility, particularly for those who serve alcohol to the general public. The goal of the Marshfield Police Department is to encourage responsible drinking behavior wherever alcohol is sold or consumed.
The Marshfield Police Department is pleased to offer this training at no cost to Marshfield servers of alcohol. The department feels that by having a police officer teach this program, we can bring insight and promote communication and cooperation between the business community who sell and serve alcohol, and the Marshfield Police Department.
