Permit Management System
Welcome to the Town of Marshfield’s electronic Permit Management System. This system enables the town constituents to apply online for permits, view sign-offs and enables a process review for numerous online permit submittals. The following permits are some of the available permits that can be obtained online; Dog Permits, Building, Electrical, Plumbing, Gas, Solid waste hauler, Septage hauler, Title V installer with Food, and Tobacco permits coming soon. Additional online application permits will be available in the near future.
Depending on Permit type you must set up an account to use the system. If you do not have a computer there are numerous public computers at the Library and in Town hall. Please read the instructions carefully to set up and use your account. Below are two links to help you set up an account based on the permit you seek. For other permit applications that are not online yet, please see the appropriate department for application help.

Currently, the following computer browsers are supported for use with this application:
Internet Explorer Versions 7, 8, 9, 11 and 10 (used in compatibility mode)
Firefox Versions 3 and 9,and Google Chrome.
Future support for Smartphone and Tablet browsers may also be available. Should you have issues accessing the website links supplied, please be sure you are utilizing one of the supported internet browser versions. Pop-up blockers and browser security settings for Internet Explorer may need to be adjusted to use the full functionality of the program; these include “Active-X” options and “File download prompt” settings.
The staffs at the Building and Board of Health Departments are available to assist you in setting up your account and to assist you in using the system. Please access the appropriate department links for the business hours of individual departments. Dog Permitting does not require an account but may require other owner information to utilize that application.
All permit documentation, IE: drawings, maps or plans must be scanned into a PDF format and attached to the on-line permit application. The maximum file size that can be submitted is 10 MB.
Please Note: Once you have filled out a permit application and submitted it electronically it is only in a preliminary stage.
Only one copy of the plot plan in PDF format and one set of drawings in PDF format will be required.
Each permit will require certain Town Department sign offs to occur prior to issuance. The Building and Health Departments will send the permit application to the appropriate departments electronically. Permits are not considered officially submitted to the building department until all sign-offs have been approved. You may follow your permit review process Online by signing into your account (see instructions).
Permits may be picked up and paid for in person or you may choose to pay online with a MasterCard, Discover card or electronic check, and possibly print your permit depending on permit type. All permits must be kept on the jobsite. You are responsible to produce a physical copy of the approved drawings and have the approved drawings on site.
